Plagiarism Policy

Plagiarism Policy

Biner Journal of Social Science (BJSS) is committed to upholding academic honesty and integrity in every published work. Therefore, all submitted manuscripts will be screened for plagiarism using software such as Turnitin, iThenticate, or equivalent tools.

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism is the act of copying or using others’ work—whether in part or in whole—without proper citation. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Copying text from other sources without appropriate quotation or attribution,
  • Presenting others’ ideas, data, or figures as one’s own,
  • Self-plagiarism, or reusing one’s previously published work without proper disclosure.

Detection and Handling Policy

  • All submissions are checked for similarity.
  • BJSS enforces a maximum similarity index of 20%, with no major section copied from a single source.
  • Manuscripts exceeding this limit will be returned for revision or rejected outright.
  • Plagiarism discovered post-publication will lead to article retraction and notification to the authors’ affiliated institutions
